In celebration of the marriage of Michele Wells and Chris Jackson, we flew from Denver, Colorado to Jacksonville, Florida and drove up to Brunswick, Georgia to spend time on St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island.
This was Codie’s first trip to any beach and our meeting of our niblings Micah & Kimber Banks. Gloria found a few old photos from my childhood in the 90s I’ve added in here too.

More information on my great-uncle, who made the crossing at 10 with my great-grandmother at age 10 from Portugal to Ellis Island to Brunswick GA. As I understand, it he would drive shrimp from Brunswick GA to New York before refrigeration and before the shrimp would spoil. My grandmother is quoted in the article:
